Obituary

Linda Ehresman Springer passed away in Oklahoma City on December 16, 2024, at the age of 80. She was born on February 20, 1944, in Hutchinson, Kansas to Merle and Phyllis Ehresman. Linda had a younger sister, Sheryl, and a younger brother, Richard. She had three older sisters who were stillborn, Theda, Bonnie, and Billie, whom she now meets at last.

Linda grew up in Hutchinson, Kansas. When Linda was in high school her father took a job in North Dakota and the family moved north. She graduated from Grand Forks High School in 1962. It was in her North Dakota church that Linda met the love of her life, Robert Springer, who was the son of the minister. Linda and Robert married on June 3, 1963, in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Soon thereafter, they moved to Bethany, Oklahoma for a short time and then to Rockford, Illinois where in 1967 they had a son, Paul. Following a couple of years in Rockford, and a couple more in Kingston, Michigan, Linda and her young family moved to Bethany, Oklahoma for Robert to complete his degree at Bethany Nazarene College. In 1973, they had a daughter, Heather.

Linda's professional career was divided into two primary periods while living in Oklahoma. As a younger mother she worked as a buyer for Safeway/Homeland grocers in their Oklahoma City office. Later in her career, she transitioned to working as a customer service representative for State Farm Insurance in Bethany. Prior to moving to Oklahoma, she and Robert worked together as resident counselors in homes for disadvantaged youth in both Rockford, Illinois and Kingston, Michigan.

Linda was a loving and devoted woman of faith and family, and a dependable friend. She loved her church, Bethany First Church of the Nazarene, and served as a children's Sunday School teacher and choir member among other ministries. Her countenance looked like she was peering into heaven's throne room itself when she sang in the choir, which inspired so many in worship. She loved spending time with family and friends at her home or theirs. Perhaps her favorite times were the Ehresman family reunions in the Colorado mountains. She was a remarkably kind and compassionate woman, authentically and enthusiastically shining love into the world around her.

Linda is survived by and will be greatly missed by her son, Paul Springer and wife Teresa; daughter, Heather Nesbitt; sister, Sheryl Foy and husband Tami; brother, Richard Ehresman and wife Linda; grandson, Michael Springer; granddaughter, Elise Nesbitt; grandson, Caleb Springer; step-granddaughter, Ashley Nesbitt; many cousins, nephews and a niece. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Springer and her parents, Merle and Phyllis Ehresman.
