Linda Marie (Romano) Ryter, 69, died December 9, 2018 in OKC. She was born August 14, 1949 in Austin, TX to Paul and Helen (Skaggs) Romano. She retired from Edmond Public Schools as a high school Spanish teacher and taught college level at UCO. She earned her masters degree from the University of New Mexico in Spanish literature and enjoyed the study of the Spanish culture. An active member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, she enjoyed gardening, volunteering at Edmond Food Pantry, and loved being with her dogs.
Preceded in death by her parents, survivors include her son, Timothy Ryter of Broken Arrow, OK; daughter, Joanna Young and husband Joel of Placitas, NM; step-children, Georgine Ryter of OKC, Kathryn Huebsch and husband Eddie of Norman, OK; sisters, Nancy Willard and husband John, Janet Galloway; brothers, Paul Romano, Mark Romano and wife Annette, John Romano and wife Pamela; 4 grandchildren, Erika, Lia, Tori and Avery; 12 nieces and nephews and other extended family members.
The family wishes to thank the staff and caregivers at Iris Memory Care for their exceptional care of Linda.
Viewing will be Thursday, 1-9pm with wake service at 7pm at Mercer-Adams. Services will be Friday, December 14, 1:00pm at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with interment in Resurrection Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association in her name.
