Linda L. Jackson, 74, of Yukon, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Friday, June 18, 2021.
Linda was born November 11, 1946, in Fairmont, West Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Dale and Betty Barnes. She graduated from Fairmont High School in 1964. She retired from AT&T, where she was a Customer Care Worker.
Linda loved to volunteer her time to the community and her family. She served as a volunteer at Cleveland Elementary in Oklahoma City where her youngest granddaughter attended school and at her daughters chiropractic clinic, TLC Chiropractic. She nurtured those around her and was an accomplished cook who loved to be around family and friends - feeding bodies, hearts, and souls with her creations from the kitchen and her spirit. She is well known as the "Fudge Lady" and would make fudge as gifts and sell it during the Holidays.
Linda was a loving Mother, Grammy, Nana, Aunt, Sister, and Friend. She would strike up a conversation with anyone around her. It wasn't uncommon for her to be shopping and have long conversations in the checkout line with complete strangers. She was very friendly and loved to serve others. Sitting at home wasn't Linda's style, so she was on the go from the time she woke up until it got dark outside. She was excited to start new adventures and learn new things. She had just earned her CPR certification and was excited to start a new Job at Ollies Discount Store before she passed.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Betty Barnes; husband, Gary Jackson; both sets of her grandparents; and twin daughters, Hope and Faith Slaughter.
Linda is survived by her 4 children and their spouses: James Slaughter of Oklahoma City, OK; Dr. Tracy Calamaio (John) of Piedmont, OK; Dale Ann Slaughter (Lanie) of Monrovia, CA; and Stephanie Wilson (Wade) of Edmond, OK. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and their spouses: Terrel Slaughter, Taylor Slaughter, April Slaughter of Henrietta, TX; Jessie Chavez (Christian) of Edmond, OK; Sloan Slaughter-James of Monrovia, CA; Desiree Wilson, Hunter Wilson, Cheyenne Wilson of Edmond, OK and Stormi Dutton (Thomas) of OKC, OK. Also, 9 great-grandchildren: Donavin and Brison Slaughter; Kerstin, Zaiden, and Kinsley Peterson; Alexandria Slaughter; Santiago and Stassi Chavez; and Gunner Wilson; her brother, Roy Jarrett of OK; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
