Obituary

Linda Marie Bray Emmert of Oklahoma City began her eternal healing on February 2nd, 2022. Linda was born on April 1st, 1951, to Harold and Mary Bray of Oklahoma City, she was the oldest of 4 children. Linda attended Southeast High School and worked summers as an aid to Judge William Kessler. In the spring of 1966 she met Clay Emmert, her future husband of over 52 years. Linda graduated from Southeast in May of 1969 and she and Clay were married on November 14th 1969, after he returned from Military active duty. Linda completed courses in shorthand and office management from Blackwood Business College. Over the next 35 years she worked as a legal secretary for 6 law firms, then as an office manager for several State Farm Insurance agents and a local Automotive Equipment company. Linda also sold Mary Kay cosmetics for about 6 years. She eventually took an Anatomy and Medical Transcription course from Redlands College but did not work in the field. Linda was an excellent homemaker and cook, a loving mother and wife. She was an accomplished seamstress, loved to read and had a thirst for knowledge. Linda enjoyed photography and got quite creative with Photo-Shop and music on her computers. She was also musically inclined and had a lovely voice. Linda enjoyed growing and tending her flowers and rose bushes around the yard. She also enjoyed growing cats! For over 16 years Linda nurtured a family of four kittens throughout their lives and grieved as they aged and died. Linda enjoyed their Eufaula Lake property where she cooked for the herd, developed a knack for catching crappie, could take the boys out skiing and loved skipping across the lake on her Sea-Doo. She loved the patio sunsets with music and family or viewing the stars from the hot tub. Whether at the lake or at home, Lindas flair for fashion was evident and she was always lovely and well groomed. The last 20 years of Lindas life was diminished with serious back issues and then eventually dementia. With few exceptions her gentle and sweet nature shined world got smaller and stranger. Overall, all she remained a sweet happy girl with lots of "thank yous" and giggles. Our "Lulu" will be missed yet we lovingly cheer her on to her Heavenly reward. Preceding Linda in death were her father, Harold Bray; mother, Mary James; her brother, Jimmy Bray; sister, Kathy Martindale; and step-brother, baby Jack James Jr. Linda is survived by her husband, Clay Emmert and son, Kevin Emmert of the home, son, Jeff Emmert of Eufaula and son, Chris Emmert and wife Tisha of Bethany. Also, her stepfather, Jack James of Del City, sister, Anita Mihalcik and husband Todd of Edmond, stepbrother, Randy James and wife Carla of Moore and her precious grand daughter, Emily June Emmert of Ft. Worth, Texas, plus a host of in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews and friends. We Bless Lindas memory and all the ways she enriched our lives.
