Lillian (Vi) Holmes was born November 5, 1926, to John and Mary Onderek in Earlsboro, OK. She passed away November 3, 2016, just two days before her 90th birthday party. During WWII she was very proud to have worked at Douglas Aircraft as a "Rosie the Riveter". She had long careers at Wagner Studio, and B. C. Clark Jewelers. She is a past President of the Oklahoma Mineral and Gem Society, and very active in the Quilt Guild. Vi was 100% Czech, and proud of her heritage. She was the Grand Marshall of the 2010 Okla. Czech Festival. She married Garland Holmes in 1944 and they were inseparable until his death in 2002. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and her sister. She is survived by her sons, Steve (Sharon), Mike (Karen), and Patrick (Deb); 8 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and her "honorary" granddaughter, Lacy, to whom the family owes a great deal. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Mobile Meals of Okla. Co. Funeral service will be 10:00am, Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at Mercer-Adams Chapel in Bethany, OK with graveside service in Czech National Cemetery, Prague, OK at 2:00pm.
