Lieselotte "Lilo" Frieda Jackson, age 89, passed away on February 3, 2022.
Lilo was born in Tilsit, Germany to Max Lenkat and Klara Lenkat. Lilo was the oldest of five children and the only girl. She was a young girl during World War II in Germany and it shaped her opinions about the world.
Lee Jackson and Lilo met in Frankfurt, Germany when Lee was serving in the U.S. Army. Lilo married Lee on September 17, 1962 in Frankfurt. Their first son, Marcus was born in Germany and they moved to the United States shortly after. Lilo became a U.S. citizen in 1969, a few months before their second son, Bruce was born.
Lilo worked for many years for the Putnam City School District in their food service department, and later worked as a deli manager for Safeway/Homeland stores.
Her grandchildren lovingly called her Omi. Her family was her pride and joy. She loved to spend time with her kids and grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Gerhart, Udo, and Hans; and her husband, Lee. Surviving relatives include a brother, Peter Lenkat; two sons and their wives, Marcus and Bobbi Jackson, Bruce and Paula Jackson; four grandchildren, Christopher, Blake, Matthew and Lydia; and one great-grandchild, Brantley. Services for Lilo Jackson will be held on Monday, February 7th at 10:30am at Mercer-Adams Chapel in Bethany, Oklahoma.
