Leta Wilson, 66, was called to her heavenly home on September 18, 2010. A 20 year resident of Yukon, Leta was born on March 17, 1944 in Howard, Kansas to Earl and Rachel Bartlow. Spending most of her childhood in Carmen, Oklahoma, Leta graduated from Carmen High School in 1962. She married the love of her life, the Rev. Loyd Wilson on March 24, 1963, becoming the perfect Pastors Wife as they served the Lord together. She had two children, JoLeta (husband Robert), Del (wife Cathy), and five grandchildren: Natalie, Timothy, Emily, Grant and Olivia. In addition to ministering to several congregations and communities in Oklahoma and surrounding states, most recently Calvary Holiness Church in Purcell for the last seven years, Leta also worked and volunteered at The Childrens Center in Bethany. Her love and unwavering support for her children and grandchildren came from her faith and experiences growing up in a very close family, one that still gets together each year for a very large family reunion. She extended that love to everyone she met, often adopting children as Karen and Keith Carmichael and family have experienced. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, camping, spending time with her family and bragging on her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Norman and her sister Elsie. In addition to her husband, children and grandchildren, she leaves behind her six brothers and their spouses, (Warren & Joan, Duane & Norma, Wayne & Marilyn, Rex & Ardena, Victor & Janie and Mel & Peggy), sister-in-law Myreta, numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and countless friends. Visitation will be held at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service on Tuesday, September 21 from 6-9 PM. Following a private graveside service at Yukon Cemetery, a Celebration of Letas Life will be held at Christs Legacy Church, 11101 N. Morgan Rd., on Wednesday, September 22 at 2:00 PM.
