To view Lester's memorial service, please click here. Lester Clair Sprang, 99, died August 20, 2022 in Oklahoma City, OK. He was born September 30, 1922 in Shreve, OH to Harold and Nattie (Nave) Sprang. A proud veteran, he served in the Army Air Corp (later known as U.S. Air Force) as a Gunnery Instructor. In 1949 Lester married the love of his life. He then graduated from Olivet Nazarene University in 1950 and moved to Bradenton, Florida where he worked as a Postal Supervisor for the U.S. Postal Service for 33 years. He was a longtime active member of Bradenton First Church of the Nazarene and was a charter member of Forest City Church of the Nazarene in North Carolina. He was passionate about telling people about Jesus until his final breath. He enjoyed bowling, golf, and playing the trumpet. He loved birds and Ohio sports teams. Lester was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Annie Jacqueline (Carter) Sprang; second wife, Eleanor (Kraft) Sprang; son, Lester C. Sprang, Jr.; brothers, Milo and Dwight; and sisters, Ada Grace and Naomi. Survivors include his daughter, Cecelia Snyder (Jeff); daughter-in-law, Martha Stephens (Jim); grandchildren, Jonathan Lester Sprang (Kristen), Caley Spangenberg (Steve), and Candace Day (Justin); and great-grandchildren, Peyton, Parker, Conner, Jacob, Colton, Ezekiel, and Emory Claire. A memorial service in his honor will be on Saturday, August 27, 10:30am at Bethany First Church of the Nazarene, Bethany OK. The service may be viewed here.
