Lester Hatfield, 83, of Bethany, Oklahoma, went home to be with Jesus April 10, 2011. He was a godly man who loved and enjoyed his family. He served in the Army during World War II and was an active member of Grace Baptist Church for over 15 years. Lester was preceded in death by his parents, Jasper and LaVivien Hatfield, sister, Olive, and sons, Steven and Rodney Hatfield. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Donna Jeanne Hatfield; children, Laura (Michael) Smith, Joyce (Charles) Elkins, Bryan (Kelly) Hatfield; grandchildren Amhee (Stephen) Heim, Benjamin (Annette) Smith, Timothy (Briana) Smith, Jennifer (Brent) Phillips, Rachael Smith, Matthew (Amy) Elkins, Bryan (Sara) Elkins, Rebecca (Alex) Pennebaker, Kirsten (Darren) Butler, Craig Hatfield, Chelsey Fussner and Farren Fussner; great-grandchildren Connor Heim, Kyle Heim, Chloe Heim, Jessandra Smith, Kaylee Smith, Isabella Smith, Zoe Smith, Collin Phillips, Nico Phillips, Lillian Elkins, and Lola Elkins. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Kenneth Hatfield and his wife Beatrice, Ethel Henderson, Vera Regnier, and Murl Hatfield and his wife Marjorie. Viewing will be Tuesday, 9am-9pm, with the family receiving guests from 6-8pm at Mercer-Adams. Services will be Wed., April 13, 10:00am at Grace Baptist Church, 3141 NW 10th St., with interment in Bethany Cemetery.
