Obituary

Leroy Eugene Laurent, 86, of Tuttle, Oklahoma, passed peacefully away on July 27, 2026, in Colorado Springs, CO. He was born in Elwood, Nebraska to Lloyd and Lola Laurent on December 24, 1939. At age 3 he moved to Oklahoma where he spent the next 80 years of his life.

Leroy earned a degree in Business Administration from Central State University through the G.I. program and served stateside for two years during the Korean War, followed by an additional two years in the Army Reserve. He worked at the Federal Reserve Bank, Myriad Convention Center, Tinker Air Force Base, and numerous car dealerships.

Leroy was known for his generosity and would give anyone the shirt off his back, though he would advise you never to drop a bag of money on your feet (it hurts quite a bit). He loved to fish (even though the fish usually won) and was an avid fan of cars, especially Studebakers. His fondest memories were of doing puzzles with his grandpa and riding his bike off the roof of his house with his brothers.

Leroy is survived by his sons, Steven and David; his daughter Sandra; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Suzanna Laurent and his daughter, Debra Carter.

A graveside service will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery (13400 N Kelley Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73131) at 11:00am on Thursday, July 30.
