LeRoy Brooks, 90, left this world to join his heavenly father, Saturday, April 23, 2011, surrounded by family at the hospital. LeRoy served in the US Navy from 1942-1947. He had a great love for sports. If his family couldnt find him, they always knew to check at the ballpark. LeRoy was quite a jokester and had a great sense of humor. A member of Springdale Baptist Church, he was a good Christian man and was loved by all who knew him. LeRoy retired from Tinker in 1975 after 32 years. After retirement, he loved going to his sons antique shop and visiting with the customers and talking sports. LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents, Ida Belle and Sam Brooks, sisters, Gladys Nash and Ida Belle Ross, and brother, Vernon Brooks. He is survived by his son, Bruce Brooks and wife Nita; daughter, LaJune Ellis; and 4 grandsons, Shane, John, Justin and Michael; and many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Dr. Saadah and staff and the many caregivers who took care of Dad. Services will be Wednesday, April 27, 2:00pm at Springdale Baptist Church with interment in Resurrection Cemetery.
