Obituary

Leonard "Len" Roberts was born on August 25, 1940, to Kenneth and Ieva Roberts in Oklahoma City, after a hurried trip from their home in Shawnee, Oklahoma. He spent most of his life in Oklahoma and attended Northeast High School, where he first met the love of his life, Nancy Roberts.

Though their paths diverged—Nancy moving to Tennessee and Len eventually to Texas—their story wasn't over. They reunited in Oklahoma City after Nancy returned, and Len, who often took the train to visit friends, found his biggest reason to visit was Nancy. Their love story culminated in marriage on July 1, 1957.

Together, they had three children: Leonard Roberts, Margaret Roberts, and Michael Roberts. With Nancy always by his side, Len pursued a wide range of endeavors—from selling locks, cars, and mobile homes to owning an RV park. No matter the venture, Nancy was his biggest supporter.

Their journey together took them around the world, with memorable stops in Greece, Japan, Denton, Texas, and Lake Ray Roberts in Gainesville, Texas. But Len's proudest role was that of a family man. He and Nancy opened their home and hearts to over 43 foster children, six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

Len was known as a no-nonsense, get-the-job-done-first kind of man. Yet he always made time for those who mattered most—especially Nancy, his partner in life for over 69 years, and their family. His legacy of devotion, hard work, and love will be felt for generations.

Len is survived by his sons, Leonard Roberts and Mike Roberts (Kim); grandchildren, Joe Roberts (Tracy), Stephen Roberts (Jennifer), Chris Roberts (Princy), Trey Roberts (Jessica), Kristen Mixon (Bryan) and Lindsay Mathews (Caleb); great-grandchildren, Jenna, Colten, Bryson, Alex, Luke, Reese and Lincoln Roberts, and Riley and Emma Mathews; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Roberts, parents, Ieva (Pruitt) and Kenneth Roberts; sister, Jane Smith; brother, Sonny Roberts; daughter, Margaret Roberts; daughter in law, Paula Roberts.

Service will be held Thursday, May 8 at 1:00 PM at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery Chapel with entombment to follow in Resurrection Memorial Cemetery Mausoleum.
