Lena Faye Lindley was born January 22, 1918 to Cluff Sims and Bertie Morrison Sims at Stewart, Oklahoma. She made her final earthly journey April 14, 2009 to join her husband in eternal joy only two weeks after his death. Her funeral service will be at Mercer-Adams Funeral Home Chapel, Monday, April 20, 2:00 p.m., exactly two weeks to the day and time for that of her husband of 77 years, Rev. R. F. Lindley. They were married in October of 1932 at McAlester, Oklahoma and began a lifetime of love and ultimate companionship which took them in ministerial service to churches in Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas, Missouri, Colorado, California and finally back to Bethany, Oklahoma for retirement, where they were members of Bethany First Church of the Nazarene. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Lindley, her parents Cluff and Bertie Sims, sisters Bessie Gough, Jessie Sims, Bobbie Akin, and a brother Jack Sims. She is survived by her son and wife, Bob and Mary Dell Lindley of Oklahoma City; one grandson and wife, David and Gina Lindley of Oklahoma City; two great-grandchildren, Luke and Cameron Lindley of Oklahoma City; nephews, Harold, Jerry and Jackie Akin, all of Oklahoma City, Gary Lindley, Eufaula, Denny and Randy Jack Lindley, Tulsa, and Larry Lindley, Oklahoma City; sister-in-law, Mary Ruth Lindley, Tulsa; as well as other relatives and loving friends around the world. Gratitude is expressed by her family for the loving care given by the staffs at Quail Creek Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center, Physicians Choice Hospice, Bethany First Church of the Nazarene and the United Methodist Church of the Servant, Oklahoma City. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum with a gathering of friends and family at Mercer-Adams afterward.
