Obituary

Lawrence John Olson was born June 29, 1932 in Minneapolis, MN to Homer & Mary Olson. The family moved to Oklahoma when Larry and his cherished sister, Jennifer, were children. Larry graduated from Central High School in OKC in 1950. Larry served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1960 with a degree in Geology and in 1963 achieved a Masters Degree. In 1961, he joined the Federal Bureau of Investigation, where he served as a Special Agent until 1982. Larrys proudest achievement as an agent was working to ensure civil rights were observed in the Deep South during the 1960s. After retiring, Larry enjoyed traveling, photography and spending time with family. Larry married the love of his life, Patty Sue (Manners) February 3, 1956. Together they had two sons, Lawrence John, Jr. & Kirk Alan. When Patty Sue was stricken with Alzheimers disease, Larry remained loving and steadfast in caring for her until her passing in April 2006, after 50 years of marriage. He is also preceded in death by his parents, Homer & Mary Olson and brother in law, Don Manners. He is survived by son, Larry, Jr.; daughter in law, Lanell; son, Kirk; daughter in law, Angie; and six precious grandchildren, Katy, Kelley, Kristen, Sam, Emily & Luke and sister Jennifer Schneider. Larrys family & friends will cherish his memories and life forever. Memorial services to celebrate Larrys life will be held Mon., Dec. 7, 2009, 2:00p.m., at St. Pauls Episcopal Church, 127 NW 7th OKC, OK, 73102.
