Lawrence "Larry" D. McElyea, 59, of Yukon, OK went to be with the Lord on January 26, 2014 after a battle with cancer. He is survived by his mother, Norma McElyea of OKC, and his sisters, Kathy Smith and husband Dwight of Plano, TX, and Kelly Brewer and husband Kevin of OKC. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews: Angela Reynolds and husband Cody and child Levi, Micah Smith, Sammy Smith, Diane McElyea, Daniel Brewer and Adam Brewer. Larry was preceded in death by his father, Jerry McElyea and his brother, Patrick McElyea. Graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 30 at 3:00pm in Gracelawn Cemetery, 24 E. 1st St., Edmond, OK. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to Mercy Sisters of Charity, 4300 W. Memorial Rd., OKC, OK 73120. His family would also like to offer sincere thanks to all of the nurses and staff of Mercy Hospital and Mercy Hospice for their wonderful care of Larry in his last days.
