Lawana Isaacs Shellenberger, wife of Dr. Elmer Shellenberger, passed away Friday, December 6, 2013. Born in Wichita, Kansas, she was the daughter of Leta and Clyde Loughmiller. She is survived by her husband and daughters, Shelley Isaacs Nichols, of Athens, GA, and Jamie Isaacs Horowitz (Henry), of Greenville, SC; five grandchildren, Rachael Nichols, Rebekah Nichols Williamson (Davis), Sarah Nichols, Andreana Horowitz Snyder (R.J.), and Harrison Horowitz; and one great grandchild, Olivia Williamson. In addition, she is survived by Dr. Shellenberger's family, son, Kent Shellenberger (Stephane), and daughter, Susie Shellenberger; grandsons Scott, Brett, and Matt Shellenberger. She was preceded in death by her first husband of 48 years, Raleigh Hamlin Isaacs. Lawana will always be remembered as a gracious, sweet, loving wife, mother and friend. She leaves a rich and beautiful Christian heritage to those who knew her.
