LaVeta (Beel) Sargent of Bethany, OK died peacefully on November 18, 2023 in Lincoln, Nebraska. She was born in January of 1934 in Atkinson, Nebraska, and grew up near Ainsworth with her parents, Henry O. and MayDe P. Beel.

LaVeta graduated from Ainsworth High School in 1952 and attended Nebraska State Teachers College and Bethany-Peniel College in Bethany, OK. She married Delbert Sargent on August 31, 1956. They made their home in Bethany, Oklahoma, where their beloved daughter, Lisa, was born in 1964.

LaVeta spent most of her life working for the Oklahoma City Public School system. After retirement, LaVeta and Delbert enjoyed being outside, completing elaborate landscaping in and around Oklahoma City. Most of all, LaVeta was a doting mother, a loving wife, and a servant of Christ. She is missed by many.

LaVeta was preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter, one brother, and one sister. She is survived by numerous family, friends, and caretakers.

Services will be held at 1:00pm on November 29, 2023, at Mercer-Adams Chapel with interment to follow in Resurrection Memorial Cemetery.
