Laura May
Washburn
Feb 25, 1935 — Feb 28, 2025
Laura May Washburn was a woman of strength, resilience, and love. Born February 25, 1935, in Clare, New York, to Elmer William Cameron and Edith Elmo Cameron (Spicer), Laura lived a life of dedication and perseverance. She graduated from Knox Memorial High School in 1954 and spent 15 years at GTE Lenkurt before working in a plastic factory and later as a waitress in Oklahoma until retirement.
Laura's life was filled with love in three meaningful marriages. She first married George Raymond Morse, with whom she had her two beloved children, George Raymond Morse Jr. and Donna Darlene Burdett. Though their marriage ended, she remained devoted to her children. She later married Earl Huddleson, and then Arnold Thomas Washburn, who remained her partner until his passing.
Family was Laura's greatest treasure. She adored her daughter, Donna Darlene Burdett, and son-in-law, Timothy Ray Burdett. She was a proud grandmother to Karen Renea Roberts-Licklider and her wife Shelly Kay Roberts-Licklider, and Jason Raymond Burdett.
Laura enjoyed bowling, gardening, sewing, working on puzzles, playing dominoes and cards, and cheering on the OKC Thunder. She also loved spending time with her pets, who brought her comfort and companionship. She found joy in life's simple moments and shared her warmth with everyone she met.
She is survived by her brothers, Harold (Richard) Tupper and Floyd Cameron; her sisters, Carol Elliott, Betty Elliot, and Margaret Johnson; as well as nieces, nephews, and many loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents; son; husbands; and brothers, Bernard (Ike) Tupper and William (Bill) Tupper.
Laura's love, kindness, and perseverance will be remembered always. Rest peacefully, Laura. You will forever be in our hearts.
