Obituary

Laura Mae (Allen) Pooler began her eternal life on May 2, 2009. She was born Good Friday, April 2, 1920 to Charles and Jessie Allen in Jones, OK. Following graduation from Luther High School, Laura Mae completed studies at Hills Business College in OKC. Originally employed by Macklanburg-Duncan in the steno pool, she rose to the position of Office Manager and Secretary to the Macklanburg Boys. Wanting to spend more time with a growing family, Laura Mae accepted a position with Putnam City Schools as the Principals Secretary at Western Oaks Elementary School where she served for 20 years. A nationally ranked bowler in her youth, Laura Mae was also an avid camper, fisherwoman, and pitch player. Laura Mae married Max L. Pooler on February 25th, 1950 and their union was blessed with two children. Above all, Laura Mae loved her family and her Lord. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, and a sister, Ruth Brody. She is survived by her daughter Jana and husband Jim Gladney of OKC, her son Mike Pooler and wife Laura of Katy, TX, 4 grandchildren, Joshua and Megan Gladney, and Andrew and Rachel Pooler, a host of nieces and nephews, and friends uncountable. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Putnam City Christian Church or the American Lung Association. Visitation at Mercer-Adams Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 6, from 6 8 pm. A service celebrating Laura Maes life will be held at Putnam City Christian Church, 4215 N. Grove, OKC, on Thursday, May 7, at 2:00 pm.
