Larry Richard
Ward
Aug 25, 1951 — May 28, 2025
Larry Richard Ward, 73, of Warr Acres, Oklahoma, went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by his family, on May 28, 2025. Larry's greatest joy in life was his family and sharing God's love with everyone.
Larry and Debbie had an unconditional love for one another. They shared 52 amazing years, that was nothing short of biblical. On June 17th they were looking forward to celebrating their 53 anniversary. Together they built a family full of children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren that he loved and cherished.
Larry was a man of unwavering faith and kindness, a true servant at heart. He lived a life of generosity and compassion. Larry never met a stranger, everyone was a friend and friends quickly became family. He allowed God to always shine and by doing so he would light up a room with his presence.
He was a business owner that chose to invest in his family. The most important thing to him was his family and his relationship with God. When God gave him a work, no matter how hard, he did it. When someone needed something, he was always there. His love was unconditional, constant, passionate, and he showed up for the people he loved every single day.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Ed and Florene Ward; his brother-in-law, Lucian Lee; and his nephew, Zachary Wilson.
Larry leaves behind his loving wife Deborah; daughter Jenni Ward, and her children; Skyler, her fiancé Michael, and her son Giannis. Zamian, his fiancée Chloe, and their son Buddy. Gracie, Grayson, and their son Jax. Emmerie, Ananaiyah, and Coralei.
He is also survived by his son Seth Ward, his wife Missy, and their children Halle, Noah, Shyloh, and Bodie; Daughters, Ashley Ward, and Lauren Case, her husband Adam, and their children Conner and Taylor; and son, Derek Ward.
He is survived by his sister Joni Dougherty and husband Nelson, along with their children and grandchildren; his sister Sally Lee, her children and grandchildren; and his brother-in-law David Wilson, wife Vicky, and their children and grandchildren.
Larry was the patriarch of his family and a steady, guiding presence whose strength and love formed the heart of their home. He left a legacy of generosity, grace, love, and unwavering faith. His laugh was contagious, his wisdom deep, and his advice always came from a place of love and truth. Larry was the one everyone turned to for counsel, and for a reminder of what truly matters in life. His legacy lives on in the way his family loves, serves, and supports one another.
Larry lived by grace and often reminded others of his favorite truth: "By grace we have been saved, not by works." One of his most cherished scriptures was John 3:17, which reflects his heart for mercy, not condemnation.
A celebration of Larry's life will be held Tuesday, June 10th at 2:00 p.m. at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service Chapel in Bethany, Oklahoma. During this celebration Family and friends are encouraged to share how Larry has impacted your life, or a story you may have, as we gather to honor the incredible man he was and the love he gave so freely.
He will be deeply missed, but his legacy of faith, love, and service will live on through every life he touched.
The service will be live-streamed and can be viewed on this obituary page.
