Larry was born on October 7, 1923 in Golden, Illinois to Simon and Margaret Flesner. The youngest of ten children, he grew up on a farm in a small German community where his strong work ethic and devout Christian faith were instilled. He met the love of his life, Jacqueline Channon (Jacquie), whom he married on February 24, 1946 in Quincy, Illinois. He moved his family comprised of his wife and three young daughters to Dallas, Texas in 1955, where Larry began his new career with Haloid, later known as Xerox. With his excellent organizational, problem solving and personnel skills he quickly moved up through the company into several managerial positions. He moved his family to Edmond, Oklahoma in 1963 where he later retired from Xerox after 32 years of dedicated service. Larry was not one to fully retire and he continued to work part-time until his health declined. He was active in many leadership roles in the community, including Edmond City Council, Peace Lutheran Church, Edmond Elks, YMCA, Toastmasters and UCO Parent Organization. He lived life to the fullest, enjoying various outdoor activities, including softball, golf, tennis, hunting and fishing. In addition, he and his wife enjoyed traveling and he especially loved attending his grandchildrens' various activities. Larry was never too busy for family and friends. Whatever their need, he would be there to help. He had a giving spirit and it was often said he never a met a stranger.
