Obituary

Larry Daniel Paige, known to family and friends as Danny, was born May 14, 1945 in French Camp, CA. At the age of 17, while living in Tushka, OK he enlisted in the United States Army and trained with the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, KY. He later became a combat engineer assigned to the 25th Infantry Division, nicknamed "Tropic Lightning," based at Schofield Barracks in Hawaii.

Upon his discharge from the Army in 1966, he first lived in San Francisco and then in Houston, practicing such trades as carpentry and auto body repair before returning to Oklahoma and meeting Anna Maria Ruth Jester at a mutual friend's house. Danny and Ruth were married in 1969.

Danny began his career in law enforcement as a patrol officer with the Oklahoma State Capitol Police in the early 1970s. He later worked as a Lake Ranger for a short period of time before joining the Spencer Police Department as a patrolman, later becoming a detective, then Chief of Police. He also joined the Air Force Reserve and attained the rank of staff sergeant in the Air Force Security Police (SP). Danny concluded his law enforcement career as an officer in the Tishomingo Police Department before returning to auto body repair and later to private security work before retiring.

Danny was preceded in death by his father, Donovan Clapp; his mother, Irene Paige of Tushka, OK; sisters, Charlotte Pool and her husband, Art Pool of Tushka, OK and Betty Smith and her husband Clyde Smith of CA; brother, Jerry Paige and wife Mary Paige of Atoka, OK; and brother-in-law, Bill Walls of Tishomingo, OK.

Danny is survived by his beloved wife, Ruth Paige; sons, Danny Paige, Jr. of Oklahoma City, OK and Donovan Paige of Oklahoma City; daughter, Angela Paige and her partner, Joseph Nimmo of Oklahoma City, OK and their son Robert Paige and his wife Melissa Paige of Guthrie, OK; granddaughters, Cheri McGarvey and her husband Kenneth McGarvey of Mustang, OK and Sandra Aguilera and her husband Marco Aguilera of Mustang, OK; grandsons, Jack Paige of Guthrie, OK, Wesley Paige of Guthrie, OK and Rocco Nimmo of Oklahoma City, OK; and five great-grandchildren that he loved and cherished, Karson McGarvey, Ava McGarvey, Ella McGarvey, Kassandra Aguilera and Marceline Aguilera.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 17, 10:00am at Mercer-Adams Chapel with interment to follow in Fort Sill National Cemetery at 1:00pm.
