Kyli Gabrielle
Hammond
Aug 15, 1989 — Aug 25, 2024
Kyli Gabrielle Hammond went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 25, 2024. She was born on August 15, 1989 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Kyli was the owner and publisher of the Oklahoma Women's Journal Magazine (OWJ). She worked for Hal Smith where she managed Charleston's, and also owned and operated Tidy Up house cleaning service.
Kyli adored her dog, Blue, and her two kittens, Frankie Pank and Wallyana Gertrude. Her passion was her magazine, OWJ. This was her way of giving women a voice to share their stories. Kyli was completely transparent about her own struggles with depression, thoughts of suicide and her biggest fears and failures. Her magazine was her labor of love - a beautiful work of art - from the pictures she took to the stories she wrote. Her artistic abilities were unmatched.
Kyli loved to travel and explore. If she stumbled upon an old abandoned building or farmhouse during her travels she would stop to hunt for hidden treasures. She always wondered about the families who lived there before. It was her childlike curiosity and her sweet spirit that made Kyli who she was.
Kyli loved everything about nature and being outdoors - camping, hiking, or picking wildflowers along the way. This was where she found her peace. Always by her side was her beloved dog, Blue. If Blue couldn't go with her on her adventures, she didn't go. No matter where her journey led her, she would journal about everything, as she took dozens of pictures to capture the beauty of the landscape.
Kyli was self-taught in most everything she put her hand to. Whether it was photography, editing, storytelling, speaking, or creating experiences for herself and others, there was nothing she would shy away from. She was very meticulous in all that she did. Kyli never did anything halfway. If she didn't know how it was done, she would research and study it, teaching herself every aspect until she mastered it.
She loved traveling to see her niece, Chloe's, BMX races or going to hear her brother, Mitchell, perform. Kyli was extremely passionate about her family and her friends. Although Kyli never married or had children, she loved her nephews, nieces, and the babies of her best friends. Most recently she celebrated the birth of her nephew, Colton Reed.
It was Kyli's laugh that was infectious and her silly antics made us all crack up. She knew no stranger. With her bright smile and loving nature, she would find friends wherever she went. She made people feel loved and seen. Her heart was always to help those in need, especially Ms. Renee, a homeless woman whom she loved. She made sure she had proper clothing, food, and shelter. She always poured from her cup into others even when her cup was empty. Her beautiful essence and legacy will live on in the lives she touched.
Kyli is survived by her parents, Marcus and Julienne Hammond; her siblings, Kelly, Nicole, Kori, Mikenna, and Mitchell; nephews, Coben, Callen, and Colton; nieces, Chloe, Celeste, and Canyon; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and her beloved Kayla.
She will be laid to rest with her Grandpa Neal Ruonavar; her uncle, Timothy Ruonavar; and her niece, Savvy Faye McCoy in Bethany Cemetery.
We would like to thank everyone for the out-pouring of love, prayers, and your continued support. Your cards, voice messages, emails, and comments have not gone unnoticed by our family.
We love you all and we appreciate your kindness throughout this difficult time. We know that our Kyli will be forever missed, but she will never be forgotten.
Kyli's favorite Bible verse:
I've been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. (Galatians 2:20)
