Kenneth Wayne Minick, born July 30, 1936 to Harry Austin Minick and Mabel Laverne Barker Minick, passed into the arms of Jesus on July 18, 2021. He proudly served in the 506th of the 101st airborne division of the army and afterwards started his own business, Minick Trucking (now Minick Materials), which he operated with his wife, Nova, for over 50 years. He was an avid gardener, loved hunting and fishing, and reading about military history from World War II. He was also a faithful member of Council Road Baptist Church for 39 years.
Preceded in death by his parents; in-laws, John Neal and Fern (Livengood) Moose; brothers, Harry, Tommy and Richard (Joe); sister, Suzanna Laurent; daughter-in-law, Teresa (Bohn) Minick; brother-in-law, Darcy Jennings; as well as many loved fur babies. Survived by wife, Nova Moose Minick; daughter, Michelle Percy (Randy) of Winter Haven, Florida; son, Sam Minick of Yukon; goddaughter, Sheri Brown (Ryan) and son Maverick of Norman; grandchildren, Grant and Amanda Percy, Hillary Cantrell (Levi), Claire and Rachel Minick; and beloved great-grandchildren, Carter, Theodore and Charlotte Cantrell. He is also survived by his sisters, Janie Clure (Bill), and Judy Jennings; brother-in-law, Leroy Laurent; sister-in-law, Teresa Minick; caregiver, Martha Salinas; sweet schnauzer, Maddie; and many other nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be Saturday, 8am-8pm, with family present from 4-6pm at Mercer-Adams. Funeral to be held on Monday, July 26, 10:00am at Council Road Baptist Church with interment in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Boys Ranch Town c/o Randy Pickle, 3800 N. May Avenue, Oklahoma City, OK 73112.
