Kelvin Dewayne
Kimble
Nov 23, 1968 — Mar 29, 2024
Kelvin Dewayne Kimble was born November 23, 1968 to Calvin Earl Reed and Priscilla Ann Kimble in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He passed away at the age of 55 on March 29, 2024, five months after a debilitating car accident caused him to become quadriplegic.
Those who had the privilege of knowing Kelvin, remember him for his contagious laugh, his value for family, and his devotion to his children. He was always striving toward his goals for a better life for himself and his family. Kelvin had a long career as an independent contractor, dedicating twenty years to SureXpress. He desired to one day open a family business to share with his loved ones.
Kelvin graduated from Jones High School and went on to attend college at the University of Central Oklahoma. He was a star athlete and excelled in football with aspirations to go pro. Kelvin shared with his father a love of automobiles and often found himself under the hood, in the shop, or lending his skills to someone in need.
At age 20, Kelvin was blessed with his first son through his union with Joanna Young. Soon to follow was his daughter and two additional sons. His children were his pride and joy, and he worked hard to try to give them all that he could. One of Kelvin's greatest joys was having his family gather in his home to share time together.
Later in life, Kelvin met his great love, Kim. They settled in Oklahoma City and were joined together in marriage on July 23, 2023. Kelvin and Kim enjoyed rides together on his motorcycle, embraced life with laughter, and cherished one another's company through special moments and everyday life. Kim was a devoted wife to Kelvin and strongly stood by him after his accident, facing every obstacle and celebrating every victory by his side.
Kelvin was preceded in death by his brother, Larry D. Reed; his mother, Priscilla A. Kimble; his father, Calvin E. Reed; and his sister, Karen R. Reed.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his beloved wife, Kimberly E. Kimble; his daughter, Cara J. Young and her partner Zakary J. Barlow; his sons, Dustin A. Young, Peyton B. Young, and Coby R. Young and wife Destinee L. Young; four stepchildren, Kailey E. Brumley, Austin J. Eiler, Isaac J. Eiler, and William J Eiler; his granddaughter, Clara N. Brumley; his stepmother, Mary Reed; five siblings, Calvin Jr., Dale L., Valnita Pearson, Yakema Greer, and Aaron A. Reed; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
