Keitha Darlene Smith Kenner Fudge went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus on February 29, 2020.
She was 88 years old having been born on May 7th, 1931 in Harrah, Oklahoma. Her mother was Lula Mae Smith and her father was Clifford Carter, both of Harrah, Oklahoma.
Keitha went to Capitol Hill High School in Oklahoma City and graduated in 1948.
Also, in 1948, Keitha married Charles Leon Kenner, Sr. on Easter Sunday. She became a widow in September of 1960 with two children, Cheryl D. Kenner, and Charles "Pete" Kenner, Jr.
Keitha was married once again to Dale E. Fudge in 1962. To that marriage was born Dale Wayne Fudge in 1964.
Keitha worked at Western Electric / AT&T for 20 years in Production Control. She was most proud of her family including 5 grandchildren, all being girls. Keitha loved to cook and mostly loved baking. She was known for her "fried chicken, scrumptious apricot fried pies and dressing...especially at Thanksgiving.
Upon her retirement, Keitha became an expert at genealogy having entered over 7000 names in the genealogy registry, taking over 10 years to compile them all. Through her genealogy research she found a brother and a sister she did not know she had - Wayne Carter and Betty Carter Wolf. They wrote each other and visited each other and developed a loving relationship. She loved watching her grandbabies grow and being a part of that.
Keitha gave her life to Jesus at the age 13 and stated she was never the same. She taught many people about the Bible and the life of Christ. If you ever had troubles and spoke to Keitha she would say, "pray about it," "get on your knees." In her very late years, Keitha became a victim of Dementia but she never lost sight of Jesus. She knew she was going to see him someday and at times yearned for that date and time. Her family rests in the fact she is now with Jesus.
She is survived by her son, Charles "Pete"Kenner, Jr. and Francie Kenner of Lamar, Arkansas; daughter, Cheryl Kenner Corkle of Warr Acres, Oklahoma; son, Dale Wayne Fudge and Angela Fudge of Yukon, Oklahoma; and step-daughter, Gloria Fudge VanSchuyver of Slaughterville, Oklahoma. She is also survived her 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Her friends and family will greatly miss her, but Heaven rejoices to have her.
