(Estella) Kaye Jones, 78, died on May 20, 2011, and is now rejoicing in the presence of the Lord and the great cloud of witnesses. Born January 10, 1933, in Oklahoma City, to parents George G. Schmidt and Estella E. (Appleman) Schmidt, she grew up in Oklahoma City, received a B.S. degree from OSU and a Masters of Education degree from UCO. Kaye worked at a variety of jobs, including teaching high school math, and in service/administration at Xerox. She had a special place in her heart for cats, Christian books, the P.E.O. Foundation, and for her many friends. Preceded in death by her parents and by her sister, Franca Belle (Fran) (Schmidt) Hisel Brown, she is survived by her nephew, Roy Clifton (Clif) Hisel III, of San Antonio, TX, and several cousins. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to Good Shepherd Hospice, 4350 Will Rogers Pkwy, OKC, OK, 73108; Okla. Medical Research Foundation, 825 NE 13, OKC, OK, 73104; or to the charity of your choice. Visitation will be held from 9am-9pm Monday & Tuesday at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service, 3925 N. Asbury, Bethany, OK. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at 10 a.m. at St. Johns Episcopal Church, 5401 N. Brookline Ave., OKC, OK 73112. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
