Karen "Kay" (Wright) Roberts passed away October 20, 2015 in Bethany, Oklahoma after a yearlong battle with lung cancer. Services will be held Friday, October 23, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Mercer-Adams Chapel in Bethany, Oklahoma. Kay was born on May 1, 1946 in Enid, Oklahoma to Loyd and Freida (Johnson) Wright. Throughout her 69 years she lived in Michigan, Crescent, OK and Chickasha, OK but ultimately settled back in Bethany, OK, the town in which she was raised. Kay began her family in the 1960's with the birth of her son, Rick Alexander and her first daughter, Tina Alexander. Her daughter, Christy Stillwell arrived in 1970. Kay and Cary Roberts were married on January 22, 2000 where her family and love grew to include Jeremy, Corbyn, and Damon Roberts. Kay worked her entire life in various fields and owned restaurants in Crescent and Oklahoma City. However, her passion was being a homemaker, enjoying decorating, gardening, and creating beautiful homes for her family. She loved entertaining and cooking for her friends and family and was best known for her salsa, chicken fried steak, and fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy. Her absolute favorite time of the year was Christmas in which she would decorate from floor to ceiling as well as ensure that anyone who walked into her home would be in the Christmas Spirit. Kay was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Loyd and Freida Wright and one grandson, Tanner Elliott. Survivors include her husband, Cary Roberts of Bethany; siblings, Dorothy Varvil of Edmond, Norma Wright of Enid, Jerry Wright and wife Teresa of Crescent, J.R. Wright and wife Karen of Crescent; children, Rick Alexander and wife Kristi of Tulsa, Tina Cutter and husband Wayne of Crescent, Christy Stillwell of Bethany, Jeremy Roberts and wife Kathryn of Santa Barbara, CA, Corbyn Roberts and wife Cristi of Little Elm, TX, Damon Herrick and husband Brent of Independence, MO; grandchildren, Paige Aasness, Macy Alexander, Jennifer Beatty, Alex Cutter, Dustin and Misty Elliott, Kate, Will, Jake, and Caroline Roberts, Mitchell, Michael, and Taylor Herrick; great-grandchildren, Avery, Owen, and Annabelle; and numerous nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.
