Kay Ella Roberts, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, died on February 1, 2024 at the age of 91 in Oklahoma City, OK.

Kay is survived by her children, John Rick Roberts (Janelle), Cynthia L. Inskeep (Lonnie), Kim E. Woods, and Jennifer A. Johnson (Ron). She was preceded in death by husband, John R. Roberts; mother, Octavia F. Buxton; and son, Terry A. Roberts.

Kay was born April 9, 1932 in Antlers, OK to Octavia F. Buxton and Julius C. Loftin. She graduated from John Marshall High School where she met her future husband. John and Kay were high school sweethearts who married on May 13, 1950 which happened to be Friday the 13th. She claimed Friday the 13th to forever be her lucky day. They were married 62 years before his passing.

Kay had various work experiences including retail associate, florist, church secretary, day care employee and day care director. She dedicated many years to her church working behind the scenes in whatever role was needed.

Her most loved role was that of mother and grandmother. She loved the holidays and spending time with family. Family game night and bargain shopping were hobbies she truly enjoyed. Crocheting and embroidery brought her much pleasure in her later years. Many baby blankets were made for the grandkids—the last blanket completed in November of 2023 for her newest great-grandbaby, Jordan.

Her grandchildren (Macara, Stephanie, Jason, James, Mindy, Dalton, Hannah and Tristan) and great-grandchildren (Ayden, Hudson, Nanesko, Jack, Ezra, Noah, Abby, Caleb, Dayton and Jordan) brought her much joy and happiness. She valued the time spent with her best friend, Almira Zimmerman, and missed her dearly after Almira's passing.

A family graveside memorial was held on February 6, 2024.
