Kathanell "Kathy" Marie Harris was born in Oklahoma City on December 8, 1936 to Walter and Olive Luse. Kathy spent most of her childhood in Tulsa but moved back to Oklahoma City where she graduated from high school in 1954. She met the one and only man for her, Bobby D. Harris, a few years later and they were married from 1960 until his death in 2014. She would tell anyone who listened that all she wanted in life was to be a wife and mother. Her wish was fulfilled and she and Bob raised 3 daughters.

Kathy had a feisty sense of humor, and was a woman of many talents including singing, playing the piano, and cooking. Art, though, in its many forms was a defining element of her identity and she shared it with her loved ones throughout her life. She was a dedicated and valued volunteer for at least 30 years at Rollingwood Elementary School, where her daughters attended. She made enduring friendships at Rollingwood which were some of the most important of her life.

Another of her passions was animals and, in particular, dogs. She never met a dog she didn't like and her home was rarely without one. Kathy's life revolved around her family, friends and pets and they will all continue to feel her love and devotion.

She passed away on January 7, 2024 exactly as she loved to live, in her home surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, and husband. She is survived by her daughters and their families, Shelley and Dante Di Tommaso; Tracey, Robert, and Samuel Hickey; and Keeley and Roger Miller, as well as numerous cousins, and neighbors who became family long ago. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to your favorite animal shelter or animal welfare charity.

Funeral services will be at 10:00am, Thursday, January 11 at Mercer-Adams Chapel.
