Obituary

Kathy Blackshear, 71, beloved mother and sister, was called to her eternal place on October 13, 2021, in Yukon, OK. She entered this world on November 10, 1949, in Oklahoma City, OK, born to George and Mayme (Whitney) Mainus. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Blackshear, on November 5, 1985; sisters, Mary White, Diana Chace, and Patricia Braudrick; and brother, Billy Mainus. Kathy is survived by her daughters, Angela Hopkins, and husband Travis of Yukon, OK and Consuelo Renea Blackshear of Mustang, OK; brother, Danny Mainus, and wife Mary of Henryetta, OK; grandchildren, Anissa Blackshear, Paige Kelly, Anna Blackshear, Joshua Odell, Travis Hopkins Jr., Ashley Hopkins, Allie Hopkins, and Taylor Hopkins; two great-great-granddaughters, Zoey and Natalie. Angela describes her mother as "Funny, outspoken and loving. She would always try to make others laugh. Some people did not know how to take her, but it was all in fun. She never hesitated to say what was on her mind. She would give anything and do anything to help others, especially her loved ones." Renea said this about her mother, "she loved Oklahoma State football. She will always be a Cowboy fan and you could always hear her yelling, Go Pokes or Pistols firing." Renea thinks her mother would say to us, "Dont be sad for me, celebrate my homecoming. Its not goodbye, it is Ill see you in heaven." .
