Kathryn "Elaine" Courtney, 75, died August 26, 2021. She was born June 11, 1946 in Sayre, OK to Willie Lee and Mable Lois (Fairless) Lewis, Jr. She graduated from Putnam City High School in 1964 and received her Bachelors degree from The University of Central Oklahoma. Elaine wed the love of her life, J.L. Courtney, on July 25, 1970 in Oklahoma City. They were happily married for 46 years. She retired as an assistant librarian for Edmond Public Schools. Elaine enjoyed cooking, gardening, traveling, arts and crafts, studying Oklahoma history, playing piano, and flower arranging. Most of all, she loved spending time with family and friends. Elaine was a longtime member of Village Baptist Church where she and J.L. taught 5th grade Sunday School. Preceded in death by her parents and loving husband, she is survived by her daughter, Marcy Collister and husband Brent; brother, Larry Lewis and wife Marcia; and eight nieces and nephews. A memorial graveside service will be held Saturday, October 2, 10:00am in the pavilion at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 1906 S. Chickasaw St., Pauls Valley, OK, 73075.
