Kathleen was born to George W. and Lena (Cartwright) OHara in Sherman, Texas on January 17, 1919. Kathleen graduated from Sherman high school and then enrolled in Bethany Penial College in the fall of 1936. Just a few weeks later, she met Paul Milford Sodowsky, and they were married September 2, 1938. They had two children: Linda in Sept of 44 and Paula in June of 48.
Kathleen served with Paul for 20 years as Pastor and wife in churches of the Nazarene in Texas, Kansas, and Missouri. During that time, she enjoyed working with children and making home and hospital calls as part of their ministry. Later, Paul would take a position in Pensions and Benefits at Nazarene Headquarters in Kansas City, Missouri, and Kathleen as a secretary in the Department of World Missions. After 3 years, Kathleen began working as a secretary in the office of General Superintendent for seven years. Following this, she attended Avila College in Kansas City where she obtained her B.A. degree. Her last 10 years in Kansas City were spent as private secretary to the Dean of Nazarene Theological Seminary.
Paul and Kathleen retired in the fall of 1982, moving to Oklahoma City to be closer to their daughter Paula. They soon traveled to Brazil to spend more time with their daughter Linda and her family who were missionaries there. They enjoyed many travels both domestic and abroad to include Europe, China, and an Alaskan cruise.
Kathleen loved people and was very involved with many groups. She was a member of Bethany First Church of the Nazarene, the Academy of Senior Professionals, and the Association of Retired Ministers. She spent as much time as possible with her grandchildren, and later her great-grandchildren.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, George and Lena OHara, her husband, Paul Milford Sodowsky, her daughter, Linda Stamps-Dissmore, and sons-in-law, Donald Stamps and Lewis Dissmore; her sister, Polly and husband Leslie Stone; her brother, George OHara; and brother-in-law, Cecil Sodowsky.
