Katherene Davis Harwood Peoples, Bunny, was born in Knoxville, TN, on August 22, 1929 to William Davis Harwood and Nelma Katherene Pipkin. She died March 3, 2011. She married John W. Peoples, Jr. on June 21, 1946 and they celebrated their 60th anniversary before his death. She entered into St. Charles Borromeo Church in 1958 and was a leader in many areas of parish life. Bunny was Director of the Preschool Sunday School Program from 1965-1992. She served as Parish Council President, President and Treasurer of the Altar Society, Sacristan, Chairman of the Evangelization Committee, and was a Eucharistic Minister to the parish and the sick. She was named Woman of Achievement and Outstanding Catechist. She spent most of her career as a paraprofessional bookkeeper for three CPA firms. Bunny was predeceased by her parents, husband John, sister Janis Larsen, brother Bill Harwood, and her beloved grandson Tyler Strawn. She is survived by children Katherene & Robert Terrell, John Peoples III, and Elane Strawn; grandchildren Robert & Joy Terrell, Jonathon & Heidi Terrell, David & Tiffany Strawn, and Megan Strawn; great grandchildren Tyler Strawn, Addisen Strawn, and Hudson Terrell. She is also survived by sister Jo Ann Phenis and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Bunny wanted to thank the 7:00 am Mass Group, the Bridge Group, and the A-1 Study group for all their support. She gives thanks to her St. Charles family for the many blessings and friendships, and to the many priests who had a profound effect on her life. Her family will celebrate her life at St. Charles Church at 50th & Grove. The wake will be Sunday, March 6, at 7:30 pm and the funeral mass will be on Tuesday, March 8 at 11:00 am. Visitation is available on Sunday and Monday at Mercer Adams Funeral Home in Bethany.
