Karen A. Whaylen joined her heavenly father on Thursday, August 12. She was born in El Reno, OK to Malven and Ina Wiedemann. She is survived by her daughters Kim and Pam; son-in-law Roger; grandsons Carter, Caleb and Cameron. She is also survived by her two sisters, Pat Rutledge and Debbie Gorden; brothers Doug Wiedemann and Dan Wiedemann; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Buddy and David. She grew up in Piedmont before moving to Oklahoma City. She and her husband Jim were active members of St. Charles Borromeo Church for 60 years. Karen was a terrific wife, mother and amazing friend to all that knew her. Besides her value of being a mother to Pam and Kim, her greatest joy were her three grandsons. She and Jim were very active in their grandsons lives from birth and spent many days visiting them in Kansas City along with including them in vacations to Disney World, Colorado and Branson. She loved decorating her house for each holiday along with feeding the backyard birds and growing beautiful flowers. Her daily prayer time was extremely important along with meeting new people wherever she went. Karen will be greatly missed but is now able to join the love of her life, Jim, in heaven. A wake service will be held on Tuesday, August 17th at 7:00 pm and a funeral service on Wednesday, August 18th at 10:00 am, both at St Charles Borromeo Church.
