Obituary

Karen Renee Russell went to be with the Lord, June 22, 2023, surrounded by her family and friends. She was born on August 2, 1945, to Frank Anthony and Wanda Beatrice Grande in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She graduated from Choctaw High School in 1963. Karen spent her entire career with Southwestern Bell & AT&T working in management. Over the years she had to relocate from time to time, but she always found her way back to her hometown. She eventually retired from there and spent the next several years working part-time at Eskimo Joe's and BC Clark. Karen could often be found working in the yard, creating crafts, and watching OU football. She was an avid bowler which allowed her to travel the US and win many trophies. She was a big presence at Putnam City Baptist Church where she was fortunate to go on many mission trips around the world. She loved to travel; San Francisco being one of her favorite places. And if you knew Karen you knew she had a love for lighthouses, they could be found in every corner of her house. Having never married, Karen cultivated life-long friendships that brought her so much joy. Even as her health was declining, she remained our happy, generous, loving, ever faithful person we always knew. She will be sorely missed, but we rejoice with her as she is celebrating in Heaven. She was preceded in death by her nephew, Michael James Russell; her mother, Wanda "Pat" Russell; and her half-brother, Scott Russell as well as many aunts and uncles. She is survived by her niece, Rebekah Lindholm and her husband Scott along with grand-nephew, Brycen of Edmond, Ok. .
