Karen has made the journey to Heaven to spend eternity with our Lord Jesus Christ. She will be reunited with her father and mother, Clifford and Lillian Leskela; uncle, Gene Leskela; aunt, Marilyn Lind; as well as her niece, Leslie Anne Hamilton; and the many other family and friends who have gone before her. Karen was born in Oklahoma City and graduated from Northeast High School. She was a nurses' aide at Baptist Hospital before attaining a job at the Western Electric plant, later a Lucent facility. There she spent nineteen rewarding years until the eventual closing of that location. Subsequently, Karen was a loving and skilled caregiver to her mother, Lillian, through four critical years. Karen was an avid "I Love Lucy" fan and collector of Lucy memorabilia. One of her favorite times was her morning coffee on the patio, watching the birds and saying her prayers to the Lord. Karen was a thoughtful and generous person, always with a kind word or "Thank-you" for friends or strangers. She was fiercely proud of her Finnish/Swedish heritage and enjoyed the trips "up north" to the Minnesota and Wisconsin area, where the family farm is located and many relatives still reside. Karen is survived by Robert Grigsby, her companion of thirty-eight years; her sister and brother-in-law, Diane L. and Alex Hamilton; her aunt, Norma Leskela; aunt and uncle, Ruth and Jim Hansen, of Duluth, MN; her aunt and uncle, Chris and Bruce Kraemer, of Hermantown, MN, and countless cousins, other relatives, and friends. Karen will be missed; she left too soon and is in our thoughts and prayers daily. We love you little sister. Services will be held on Thursday, October 17, 1:00pm at Mercer-Adams Chapel, Bethany, Oklahoma
