Obituary

Justin Reece Kennedy of Oklahoma City passed on to breathe easier on December 15, 2021 at 33 years old, surrounded by family and friends. Justin was born in Oklahoma City on October 20, 1988 to Christina Wellner Sparks and Steve Kennedy. He graduated from Putnam City North High School in 2007. Justin battled Cystic Fibrosis his entire life and in 2017 had a double lung transplant that allowed him to finally breathe without problems. He had 4 great years of living a happy normal life. He developed chronic rejection in the summer of 2021 and resigned from his battle after 8 hospital visits and numerous complications. Everyone who knows Justin can attest that he had the biggest heart. He was a loyal and generous friend, always ready to help others in need. He had an upbeat spirit, always ready for adventure and keeping the party going. He was a lover of animals and always ready to give a hug. Justin was a doting uncle to all his nieces and nephews. He loved playing online games with family and friends and spent countless hours playing Minecraft with his nephew Hayden. Halloween was Justins favorite holiday; he always planned a great costume and a big party. One of the ways Justin celebrated life was by enjoying food - his favorites were Chinese food with lots of Kikkoman, beef jerky and Rold Gold pretzels. He loved grilling and enjoyed all comfort foods. He could be found having a midnight bowl of soup and watching Anime. He loved all things Mortal Kombat and Dragonball Z. Justin was preceded in death by his younger brother, Jesse Kennedy; his father, Steve Ray Kennedy; his grandparents, Charles and Kay Wellner; and grandmother, Maxine Kennedy. He is survived by his mother, Christina Sparks and stepfather, Lonnie Sparks; grandfather, Ron Kennedy; sister-in-law, Selia Kennedy; cousin, Holden Leno; nephew, Hayden Kennedy; and niece, Amelia Leno; siblings, Shara Sparks; David Sparks and wife Suzanne Sparks and their children Sam, Corbin and Leona; Jesse Sparks and wife Kristina Sparks and their children Charlie and Julian; Micah Sparks and wife Scarlett Sparks.
