June Fellers Thompson, 90, died May 22, 2016. She was born August 2, 1925 in Wichita, KS to B.W. and Alma (Dukes) Fellers. She worked for Western Electric (AT&T) in OKC and Houston for 28 years, being the first female to attain Division Operation Manager. June knew the secret to life was simply to let people love you. Wherever she went, she brought optimism and kindness. She made people feel better. June Fellers Thompson allowed them to love and care about her ~ because they needed to, and because it does feel pretty nice. She loved to sew, fish, make desserts and socialize. As the "Candy Lady," she was always sharing just to make others smile. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Perry Grandstaff; 2nd husband, George Thompson; sisters, Wanda Major and Janie Hulett; and brother, Don Fellers. Survivors include her daughter, Elaine Nelson and husband Steve; son, Scott Grandstaff; daughter, Kathleen OToole and husband Tim; daughter, Carole Jane "Sam" Gibbons and husband Paul; step-son, Dr. George Thompson and wife Janice; brother, George Fellers; 13 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild; and many, many adopted grandchildren that she mentored and loved so.
