June L. Smith joined her heavenly Father on November 8, 2016. She was born to Dike and Clara Comstock, June 22, 1923 in Van Buren, AR. The family moved to Oklahoma City in 1939. She graduated from Classen Senior High in 1941 with her main interests in home economics. Shortly thereafter, she met Ray W. Smith who was on leave from the Army Air Corps. In 1942, they began a loving marriage which lasted 69 years until Rays death in 2011. June placed priority on taking care of her husband and 3 children, Ann Lawson, Mary Lou Kime and Skip Smith. She always thought of others before herself. She was an excellent wife, mother, seamstress, cook, oil painter and gardener. June will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Dike and Clara, brother and sister, Bill Comstock, and Jane Comstock and husband, Ray. Surviving June are her 3 children, Ann, Mary Lou and Skip. Grandchildren are Chris Kime, Kelly Davis, Kortney Michaels, Rebecca Hardie, and Dean Kirton. She was blessed with 13 great-grandchildren.
Over the years, Ray and June were active at University Place Christian Church in OKC, Northwest Christian in OKC, First Baptist in Springdale, AR and Village Baptist in OKC.
Her family would like to give a special thanks to Baptist Village Nursing Center for their special and loving care for June the past four years.Viewing will be Friday, 9am-9pm, at Mercer-Adams.
