Obituary

With profound sadness we announce the passing of our loving daughter Julianna Joy "Jules" Curry. She was born December 28, 1999, the third child of Scott and Sumer Curry of Edmond, OK. From a young age she brought immense joy to everyone around her. Jules was timid in her formative years, but as she grew into her love of horses, her confidence soared. The girl who was once scared of her shadow was suddenly reigning and commanding horses with ease, managing both their movements and their care with beautiful precision. Passionate is not a deep enough word to describe her love of the equine world. Jules loved teaching horseback riding to young girls and spent many summers running riding camps from sunup to sundown. Jules worked as unto the Lord and her work ethic was exemplary.

Jules soon honed her barrel racing skills enough to earn a scholarship to the rodeo team at Fort Scott Community College, where she earned her first of two associates degrees. She was a valued member of the rodeo team and made friendships that still today are strong. Crisscrossing the central section of the United States hauling her horses, brought numerous opportunities for her family and friends to show how much they loved her in the form of countless highway breakdown rescues in "Pam the Ram" her trusty diesel truck. Jules went on to earn an additional associates degree in Paramedical Sciences from Oklahoma State University. She loved working in the medical rescue field and built a network of deep relationships in the first responder world. She recently bought a home on her own at the age of 25 and was working as a contract paramedic in Texas, while studying, riding, training EMT students, and occasionally giving horseback riding lessons. She was set to graduate with her BS in Paramedical Sciences soon and had hopes to go on and earn a PA degree and travel the country helping people. Her family and friends are heartbroken by her sudden and untimely death. Julesy's kindness, courage, and bright beautiful smile touched the lives of all who knew her. Even though we mourn her death we are so grateful to God for the beautiful 26 years we had her. We are proud of her and know that she is at peace. In her honor, the family is working to build a memorial foundation to continue the work that she loved most - teaching children the ways of the horse in a Biblically oriented setting. Jules first came to Christ while attending a Rodeo Bible Camp.

Jules was a complex, funny, loyal, and busy young lady, who accomplished more than most people twice her age. She is survived by her loving parents, Scott and Sumer, younger sister Kati Grace, older brother Cody and his wife Maggi, oldest brother Nickolas and his wife Megan and their two children Lane and Charlotte. Loving grandparents, Clark and Janis Curry, of Edmond, OK, Diane Baldwin, of Oklahoma City, and Gary and Nancy Wood, of Springfield, Missouri, as well as a host of loving aunts, uncles, special cousins, and friends.
