Judith Ann (Braun) Brown of Oklahoma City, OK passed away on May 1, 2019. Judy was born December 31, 1943 in Hobart, OK of Delbert Laverne Braun and Lillie Irene Braun. Judith was raised in the farming community until she left to attend Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 1961, where she received her bachelors degree in 1965 in biology.
Her first position after graduation was at Baptist Hospital (now Integris) as a medical technologist. Through her career she was promoted to a manager and eventually moved to IT support for the laboratory, all while raising two children as a single mother. While at Baptist, Judys perseverance and determination won her several service and leadership awards for her work in the lab. After 48 years at her well-deserved retirement in 2013, Judy was the longest serving employee of the hospital. One of her most treasured accomplishments was her work at the hospital and the lifelong friendships she made with her many of her colleagues.
After her retirement in 2013, Judy enjoyed her years by taking pleasure in her hobbies of reading, shopping, spoiling her grandchildren, and spending time with family and friends. Judy quickly became an avid OKC Thunder Basketball fan and arranged her schedule around the seasons game schedule. She was also a lifelong fan of OU football. One of her other passions was to challenge her problem-solving skills. She was an avid reader and watcher of criminal science programs.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents. Judy is survived by her brother, Bill Braun and sister-in-law Lynetta Braun of Hobart, Oklahoma; her son, Matthew Brown and daughter-in-law, Sarah Brown; grandchildren; Tyler, Nicholas, and Emily Brown of Oklahoma City; her daughter, Meagan Brown of Oklahoma City; and niece and nephew, Jessica Braun of Weatherford, OK and Mathew Braun of Hobart, Oklahoma.
