Obituary

Juanita Laverne Wilkerson went to be with Jesus, her precious, loving Savior on May 23rd, 2014 at Mercy Hospital in El Reno, Oklahoma at the age of 84. She was born in Shamrock, Texas on April 30th, 1930 to Samuel B. Hudson and Norene Cooney. She had two sisters, Vaneta Nimmons and Patricia Brown, both of Texas, and one brother, Charles Hudson of Bethany, Oklahoma, all of which have preceded her in death. She married Haskell Leroy Wilkerson, Sr. on May 16th, 1944 in Okemah, Oklahoma. She was a resident of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma and Bethany, Oklahoma, then lived the last 40 years of her life in El Reno, Oklahoma. She worked as a home health provider and a few years as a nurse's aide at the rest home. She finished her career at Wal-Mart as the fitting room associate and phone operator and after 17 years she retired. She and Hack were foster parents to several children over the years and opened their home to many others that needed a place through the years. Juanita attended church faithfully most of her life. She dearly loved her pastors and she taught Sunday School many years. She had 3 sisters in Christ who were so faithful to each other for over 65 years. Two of them have gone on to be with Jesus and we know she is now celebrating in heaven with her husband, grandson, and these 2 sisters in Christ. These three were inseparable over the years: Lagtha "Bootsie" Ingram and Evelyn Hill have gone on to heaven; Norma Walker, the last one living, continues to pastor in Lawton, Oklahoma. She has 3 living children, Haskell Leroy Wilkerson, Jr. and wife Elsie of Wellston, Oklahoma, Juanita Louise Cash and husband Ray, Sr. of El Reno, Oklahoma, Larry Dean Wilkerson of El Reno, Oklahoma; daughter-in-law, Brenda Beaver of Stillwater, Oklahoma, wife of Kenneth Beaver, son, who preceded Juanita in death; grandchildren, Kevin Wilkerson and wife Gina, LeTisha Ross and husband David, Lisa Wilkerson, Marsha Wilkerson Brown and husband Brad, Haskell Leroy Wilkerson III, Katherine Wilkerson, Cameron Wyatt and wife Beth, Tiffany Wyatt, Derrick Wyatt and wife Kellie, Antony Shane Davenport and wife Keely, Cassandra Wilkerson, Larry Dean Wilkerson II, Steve Beaver and wife Judy, Tim Allen and wife Regina, Craig Beaver, Jonathon Beaver and wife Bridgette, Christopher Beaver and wife Kim, Jamie Humble and husband Kirk; 61 great-grandchildren; 23 great-great-grandchildren; one foster child, Brenda Childers and her 6 children and 6 grandchildren; and Charles Wilkerson "Wilkie" and his wife Wanda who lived with her and Hack for a few years, and their 3 children , 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Juanita was preceded in death by her husband - her one and only true love, Haskell "Hack" Wilkerson; her father, Samuel Hudson; her mother, Norene Cooney; her step mom, Mozelle Hudson; her sisters, Vaneta Nimmons and Patricia Brown; her brother, Charles Hudson; her son, Kenneth Beaver; her grandson, Michael Wilkerson; her great-grandson, Dustin Cash; her foster son, Tommy Morse; and many family members, loved ones and friends. At the age of 14, Juanita won a beauty contest before marrying and starting a family. Later in her life she went back to school and earned her G.E.D. which was a very special achievement for a woman who married at 14 years of age and took care of not only her family but many others all of her life. Juanita was also a great spiritual influence to everyone she met. She will be looking forward to seeing us all in heaven. Funeral Service Thursday, May 29, 2014 02:00 PM Mercer-Adams Chapel 3925 N. Asbury Bethany, OK 73008
