Juanita Jean Amos, 81, died January 19, 2017. She was born July 31, 1935 in Centerville, Iowa to Hershell and Mary Margaret (Wilson) Fox. She married Lawrence Lyeal Amos on December 28, 1955 in Centerville. Jean was a devoted housewife, who worked as a home health aide to help Lyeal get through college, worked as an Election Board Inspector and Avon representative, and loved people and enjoyed being around them. She loved singing in the church choir, playing cards, and was an accomplished league bowler. She was preceded in death by her parents; her infant son, Lawrence; her infant brother; stepmother, Arliene Fox; grandparents; step-brother, Steven Dobson; Aunts, Ruth (Max) Mehrhoff, Bernice Graham, Juanita Wilson; and many Uncles. Survivors include her loving husband of 61 years, Lyeal; step-sisters, Ilene (Larry) Barger, Connie Dobson; and cousins. Viewing will be Monday, 8am-9pm, with family present from 6-8pm at Mercer-Adams. Services will be Tuesday, January 24, 2:00pm at Western Oaks Christian Church with interment in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
