Joyce Marie Thomas, 81, died August 7, 2015. She was born October 24, 1933 in Carson, OK to Leonard Mowdy and Grace Bell Mowdy Glen. She married James "Randall" Thomas January 19, 1950. She was a Capitol Hill High School Cheerleader. She was a very proud housewife. A longtime member of West 10th St. Baptist Church, she served as Adult II Sunday School Teacher for over 30 years. She was President and member of many organizations; WMU, Starlight China Club and Keramic China Club. She loved going to their lake home at Lake Eufaula. She loved when her grandkids would come visit. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Joe and Jack Mowdy, and 1 sister, Veda Curtis, daughter-in-law, Renee Thomas. Survivors include son, Randy Thomas of Banner, OK; daughter Sheila Thomas of OKC; 5 grandkids, Ronnie and wife Andrea, Macie, Alisha and husband Mike, Mandy and husband Patrick, and Jason; and 9 great-grandchildren, Wade, Anna, Jada, Jett, Chance, Sophia, Tennison, Shepard and Tucker. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great grandsons. She was loved by nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Heritage Manor Nursing Home. Viewing will be Monday, 9am-9pm, with family present from 6-8pm at Mercer-Adams. Services will be Tuesday, August 11, 10:00am at Mercer-Adams Chapel with interment in Resurrection Memorial Cemetery.
