Obituary

Joyce "Louise" Hyman was born March 14, 1935, to James Robert and Vera Jo Caldwell in Oklahoma City, OK. Louise resided in the Nicoma Park area most of her youth, until moving and graduating from Capitol Hill High School. After residing in the Oklahoma City area, she moved to Yukon, OK in 1972. Louise passed away August 19, 2026, after a long battle with dementia and Alzheimer's disease.

Louise was an accomplished piano and clarinet player in high school. She was an accountant in the automotive industry for many years until she purchased Beds Etc. in Edmond, OK, in 1991. She retired in 2002. Louise held many positions and was very active in High Noon. Her hobbies included hiking, camping and photography. Louise was a volunteer Bat Guide at Alabaster Caverns for many years. What we all remember she loved most was loading all her grandchildren into the van and setting out on a 'No parents allowed' vacation. She deeply cherished our family Christmas gatherings, even in January. She made many beautiful memories on the weekends with all her family at Terra Starr Park.

On January 24, 2003, in perfect 'Grandma style' at the OKC Zoo, she married James Dale Hyman. She spoke often of their trip together to the Snake River in Washington State.

Louise is survived by husband, James Hyman; 4 children, Kenneth Wythe of Yukon, Glenna Belew of Del City, Lisa Martin and husband Jim of Moore, and Curtis Wythe and wife Dawn of Yukon; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild and another one on the way. She also leaves behind a multitude of extended family and friends.

Louise was preceded in death by her mother, Vera Jo Caldwell; son, James Robert Wythe; daughters-in-law, Sandy Wythe and Samie Wythe; and son-in-law, David Belew.
