Joy Ann Yates, 79, passed away May 6, 2010. She was born October 5, 1930 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Olin and Mary Francis (Kidwill) Steuart. She was married to Rex Yates, who preceded her in death, October 12, 1994. Joy is survived by her sons, Shawn and wife Betty of Oklahoma City, Shannon and wife Beth of Oklahoma City, Stuart and wife Jamey of Lake Forest, California; brother Rondal Steuart; and grandchildren Christian and wife Megan, Kerry and Kathryn. Joy was a devoted wife and mother. She loved reading, playing Bridge, working crossword puzzles and crypt quotes. Viewing will be Sunday, May 9, noon to 9:00 p.m. at Mercer-Adams. Funeral service will be Monday, May 10, 10:30 a.m. at Resurrection Cemetery Chapel with entombment in Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum.
