Joy Belle Wilson entered her eternal life on December 30, 2012 after a brief illness. She was born February 5, 1925 in Hobart, Oklahoma to Dulcy Belle & James Riley Foster. Joy graduated from Bethany High School in 1946 and remained in the Bethany area the majority of her life. In 1990, Joy retired from Tinker Air Force Base after 25 years of dedicated service. Throughout her entire life, Joy served the Lord and spent many years teaching Sunday school in both Oklahoma and Texas. Anyone that knew her will always remember her sparkling blue eyes. Joy is survived by her daughter, Charolette Ruth Schlecht; her grandchildren, Geoffrey Avants, KeeAnn Avants, Brittany Schlecht and Matthew Schlecht; brother, James Foster; 7 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held Saturday, January 5th, 1:00 p.m. at Mercer-Adams Chapel, 3925 N. Asbury, Bethany, Oklahoma. Viewing will be at Mercer-Adams Thursday & Friday from 10:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the Hospice House of Oklahoma County for the dignity and compassion they provided Joy and her family during her final days.
