Joseph "Joe"
Becker, Jr.
May 16, 1939 — Dec 18, 2024
Joseph "Joe" Becker, Jr. passed away on December 18, 2024, in Bethany, Oklahoma. He was born May 16, 1939, to Joseph Becker, Sr. and Myra Conners Becker in Affton, Missouri. On February 23, 1960, he married Whynema Nickel Becker in Affton, Missouri. Joe earned a Master of Science in computer science during the evenings while working full time during the day. He worked for 30+ years at Tinker Air Force Base as a computer programmer until retirement. He also served as active duty for the U.S. Air Force and was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force Reserves and retired after 30 years of service.
First and foremost, Joe loved the Lord. Every morning Joe and Whynema spent time in prayer and reading God's Word. Joe was a loving husband, and Whynema attests to the fact that he spoiled her. She already misses him very much. Joe and Whynema enjoyed traveling and took several trips to Canada.
Joe was a quiet man, but he was always willing to jump in and help others. He served as a worker in the seven-year old's Sunday school class at Putnam City Baptist Church for many years. And he volunteered with the Baptist Conference Campers on Mission for numerous years. And he was known for his standard (and humorous) reply of, "Whatever," to nearly all questions and direction.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents and one of his siblings.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Whynema, of 64 years; one sibling; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Though we know Joe is with his Lord Jesus in heaven and is no longer hurting or in pain, he will be greatly missed. And Whynema says love will always remain in her heart for Joe.
