Jose M.
Leyva
May 22, 1938 — Apr 17, 2025
With deep love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of José Leyva, born on May 22, 1938 in Coahuayana, Michoacán, son of Francisco and Reymunda Leyva.
José had two brothers: Telesforo and Margarito. From a young age, José was a hardworking man, helping in the family orchards where bananas, coconuts, and watermelons were grown.
In 1988, after going through a critical illness, José gave his life to Christ, and from that moment on lived as a transformed man, serving his Savior with deep gratitude.
In 1992, he emigrated with his family to Oklahoma, where he continued working faithfully in hotels, restaurants, and in the cleaning department of a local university.
He walked through life hand in hand with his beloved wife, Ana, with whom he shared over 50 years of love and companionship.
He was a joyful man, a fighter, a faithful follower of Jesus, completely devoted to his family, and always had a joke on his lips to bring smiles to those around him.
He is survived by his wife, Ana; his daughters: Rosa and Marisol (Keith); his grandchildren: Ana (Fernando), Gabriela (Sergio), Moisés (Daniela), Ángel, Ethan, and Camila; and his great-grandchildren: Jocelyn, Abigail, Esteban, Isabella, Samuel, Alyssa, Abel, Ezequiel, and Elizabeth.
He also leaves behind a large number of nieces and nephews, and a community of brothers and sisters in Christ who will always remember him with love.
The legacy of José Leyva is one of faith, hard work, joy, and unconditional love. His life touched many others, and his memory will live on forever in the hearts of those who loved him.
